What this page does not claim
It does not give you a definition. Plenty of sites in this category generate one automatically, and a generated definition for an obscure lexicon entry is frequently wrong. If you need the meaning, a dictionary is the right tool; this site answers "is it playable, and what is it worth".

How this list is built
- Every word here comes from ENABLE, a lexicon released to the public domain — 172,823 words. It is the list this site can legally publish in full, and it is stated openly rather than implied.
- The tournament lists — TWL/OWL in North America, Collins/SOWPODS elsewhere — are copyrighted compilations. They are not used here and not merged in. A small number of words will therefore differ from what a given game accepts.
- Scores use the standard tile values (A=1 … Q=10, Z=10) and ignore board bonuses, which depend on where you place the word, not on the word itself.
- Lists are ordered by score, then alphabetically — the order that is useful when you are choosing a play, rather than alphabetical for its own sake.
